The Department of Foreign Affairs of Lang Son province has reported in writing to the Provincial People's Committee that the Chinese side announced that it has completed the preparation of relevant conditions to announce the expansion of Huu Nghi Quan border gate, Guangxi to 2 openings: Po Chai and Lung Nghiu.

According to the Department of Foreign Affairs of Lang Son province, on the basis of the Official Telegram dated September 25, 2023 of the Vietnamese Embassy in China and the Note of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent to the Vietnamese Embassy in China, said: The Chinese side Quoc announced that it has prepared the relevant conditions to announce the expansion of the Huu Nghi Quan land border gate, Guangxi to the two openings of Po Chai and Lung Nghiu.

To implement synchronously, the Chinese side requested Vietnam to do a good job in preparing the border gates and operating the openings on the Vietnamese side, and at the same time have a Note of Confirmation in response. From the date the Vietnamese side receives a diplomatic response, this border gate will officially be opened. The specific work will be discussed and decided by the local authorities of both sides.

Based on the exchange of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to prepare conditions for the official expansion of Huu Nghi international border gate - Huu Nghi Quan, the Department of Foreign Affairs proposed that the Provincial People's Committee consider and direct: Assign the Management Board of Dong Dang - Lang Son Border Gate Economic Zone to preside over and coordinate with agencies: Provincial Border Guard Command, Customs Department, Department of Health, Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Foreign Affairs, People's Committee Van Lang district and relevant agencies and units have done well in preparation; Proactively discuss with Chinese agencies, functional units and localities for implementation.

According to initial information from some businesses, expanding the border gate as proposed by China will create favorable conditions for trade, import and export of goods between the two countries. Especially in the last months of the year, it is the peak season for import and export of goods for businesses of the two countries. The early expansion of this border gate area will promote the export of Vietnamese agricultural products to other countries. From the beginning of the year until now, many Vietnamese exports to China have increased sharply such as durian, bananas, jackfruit, mango, rice... and will continue to have growth opportunities.
